Awww, nearly over....

Yep, the four day deal on Create and Craft comes to an end today, Fiona has done an amazing job with the Tweedies, and made some fab cards on the telly.  I really hope you are all loving these designs, they really are amazing!

For today's make, I thought I'd show you one of the 'Fold Back Frame Cards' from the CD - you actually get the bits to make TWO frame cards on the one 'design' (this is from the shaped cards section on the CD), you get two images, two fold back frames, the triangles to give you the double siding to the foldbacks, the base cards to print (if you want) and some embellishments (see the buttons in the corner, these were from the same sheet), I also used some backing paper from the CD, and you see the beautifully folded paper holding up the easel, well this is actually from the embellishments section and actually includes all the scoring lines to fold your paper pleat!

Suffice to say, I'm a complete Tweedies convert, I hope we get to work with loads more of Abigail Mill's artwork.

Anyway, must dash, so TTFN

Not long to wait now

Well, by the time I've finished writing this post, the Tweedies should be live on air with Fiona, so I thought I'd show you another of my makes for the launch.

This is an A5 cream card base, the card I've used for matting and layering is Coordinations colourcore card from the pastels set.  The topper is one of the Card Frames, I cut out the centre circle and set it back into the card, raising the remaining frame up with Collal 3D glue gel, I've used one of the borders, one of the embellishment sheets, some faux stitching, lace ribbon and some buttons.  So beautiful and so elegant.

Anyway, it's just started so I'm off to watch for a bit before work.

Tweedies Launch

Well, I'm a little late to the party as all my teamies started to show off their stunning samples yesterday, but as I could barely see through sneezing yesterday, you've had to wait a little longer for me - sorry.

This new collection from Crafters Companion launches tomorrow (12th January) at 8 a.m. with the lovely Fiona on Create and Craft TV.  I have to confess that I did not instantly fall in love with this collection as I have some of the others, it really is a bit different, but I think thats what Crafters do really well, take the unusual and make it into something infinitely craftable.  As I started to work with the images I found more and more that I really loved and the creative juices kicked in.  The Tweedies collection is created by the same lady, Abigail Mills, who did the Halcyon Days.

This first sample is created on an A4 sheet folded longways and is actually created from one of the card companions, which now come on two sheets so you get lots of alternative toppers and, as you can see lots of embellishments. I also used a bit of Neenah Desert storm for matting on the base (with one of the backing papers), some glossy accents and a brad, but other than that, it's all one card companion.

Like I said, I now love this CD, it's going to be a great go to for those people who 'don't do cute' (odd, but there are some people out there!).

Anyway, for now I'll sign off, but I'll be back with another sample tomorrow, and don't forget to tune in and see Fiona tomorrow morning.

Happy New Year!

Well, it's January 1st, so a fresh brand new year to make a mark (or completely arse it up, like every other year, but I can dream!).

Sorry I've not been about much, I was so busy in the run up to Christmas getting things ready and making cards (most of my makes last year were for Crafters Companion and I didn't make that many for my stash, one of the first things I'd like to rectify this year - make more cards for my own supplies, not that I'm complaining, I love working with Crafters Companion stuff!).

Well, I thought I'd just come on with a quick post to wish you all a Happy New Year, and to show you one of the cards I forgot to put on my blog from last year.  This is from the Bebunni Floral CD and uses one of the lovely topper companions, some backing paper also from the CD, the coordinating Bebunni cupcake die and some stunning purple ribbon.  Should be a really quick card to make, I say should as even simple cards seem to take me forever as I faff about moving things around until they seem just right.

Anyway, hope you're having a great start to the new year, and that this fresh brand spanking new year brings everything you want.
