Let's hang out

Well, here we are at Monday again, hope you are all ready for the week ahead!

This card was made a while ago, I had some lovely backing paper left over from another project and it reminded me of kite material, so I decided to make a card with it - for no other reason than I could.  I used my scan n cut to make my kite shapes and the shape for my sentiment.  I used some blue card for the background, which I embossed using the embossalicious 8x8 folder 'clouds' I used some bakers twine for my kite tails and cut out some little bows to put on the kite tails.  My distressing was done with broken china distress ink and the sentiment was stamped using the Rachelle Anne Miller stamp 'soar' from Crafters Companion.

Well, anyway, I have to be off for now as I've got to get sorted for work (no rest for the wicked - I must have been REALLY bad!)

More Christmas (sorry)

Well, I'm trying to catch up with cards I've already made and so you will forgive another Christmas card (or maybe not!).

This card was made on a 5x7 kraft card base and used one of the Mulberry Wood Christmas card companions, and a backing paper from he same CD, I've added some snowflake punches, some gems and some glitter, well you can't do Christmas without glitter.

Short and sweet for today - hope you're enjoying your Friday and see you again soon.

Sorry, couldn't resist a Christmas Card

Well, this was actually made before Christmas, but I am so behind with blogging that I just hadn't got around to sharing with you.

I really needed a few quick and easy cards for Christmas, and this one fitted the bill quite nicely, it also gave me a chance to play with my tacky embossing powder and glitter (I love glitter - even my hubby sparkles!).

I just used a plain 5 x 5 card blank, cut and embossed a spellbinders bauble shape and used matching stamps from Waltzingmouse to stamp onto the bauble with versamark, tip over the tacky embossing powder, heat to melt and then very quickly cover with glitter, then I just made a bow with some ribbon (I used my Ultimate Pro and the bow maker on this), stick the bow to the top of the bauble and then the bauble to the card.  It's actually quite flat so would probably go in the post quite easily without costing an arm and a leg!

Anyway, hope you like the card, and hope you're having a good week!

Crafters Companion February Challenge

Hi everyone, and sorry for the prolonged absence, I cannot believe how quickly this year is disappearing!

Well, we are now into February, and that means a new challenge over on the Crafters Companion Facebook page and this month, it's 'add some sparkle'.  I did think of doing a Christmas card and getting ahead (it's never too soon to start planning!), but then I thought of my lovely Scruffy Little Cat images which just scream to be sparkled up.  I chose the Niamh stamp set for both the image and the sentiment.  The backing paper is from the CD (Coordinating paper Design 10, colour 2), which I glittered using silver spray and sparkle.  I coloured Niamh with my Spectrum Noir pens (colours below) and mounted her onto silver card cut with the CC Nouveau Stamping frame.  I used the Regency A4 embossing folder and SLC Chic embossing folder to create the layers o the card, you can't see it very well but the centre of each of the diamonds on the embossing has been highlighted with glossy accents and glimmer dust for even more sparkle.  The sentiment was stamped in versamark and then embossed with silver embossing powder and cut out with the Elegant Stamping frame.
