Sneaky Peek

Well, I told you I'd be back, and boy have Crafters Companion got something wonderful to bring you next week - the Four Day Deal on Monday is a wonderful papercrafting kit featuring Barkley, the cutest dog on the block!

Isn't he just adorable, and the papers in the kit are just to die for, when I got it I actually gasped, they are sooooo fabulous.

Anyway, for the moment I am going to be running late for work if I do not go and get ready, so I'll just leave you with a list of what I used to make this lovely card:

Barkley Die cut topper
Cameo Stamping frame
A4 designer paper pad
Centura Pearl Snow White - hint of gold,
Lace Border 1
Scalloped Tags
Leaves die
Unmounted acrylic stamps
red liner tape
Collal Glue – all 3

Hope you get to fall in love with him as I have & I'll be back later with some more detail on this fab kit.

More Bamboo

Well, Bamboo is a very fast growing plant!  Sorry just me being silly, it's early in the morning and that's just my way of coping with not being in bed still.

So sorry for my lack of blogging recently, must try harder to stay on top of it and show you all my wonderful creations (well, I think they're wonderful).  Though, some of my recent wonderful creations are going to have to stay hidden for a bit longer - hush, hush.

This card was made a few weeks ago, soon after I had my wonderful news.  I have always been a big Crafters Companion fan, and have sooo many of their CD's so I thought I'd better start playing with them some more instead of just stroking them & hiding them in a box.

This card was made with the Party Paws CD, Elegance Stamping Frame around Bamboo, Cameo Stamping frame around the sentiment, Grande Dots and Flower Power embossing folders and then just some Pearl dots around the frame and a bit of ribbon (which started life white and I coloured it with Spectrum Noirs so it better matched the colours of the card).

Hope you like it & I'll try and be back tomorrow with some more - you never know I might even be able to give you a sneak peek at something......

Beautiful Bamboo

Well, I've still not come down off cloud 9 (and this from a girl who's afraid of heights!)

Whilst I wait for my first assignment, I haven't been wasting my time though, and this weekend I had a great time with my buddy Alison, who was finally feeling a bit better and at least able to stand up now.

This card was made using the stamp 'Flowers from Bamboo' available here which I coloured with my Spectrum Noir pens (I've put details of the colours at the bottom of this post).  The backing papers are from the Party Paws CD.  I made my rose using the small rose quilling die from die'sire and the leaves and doily are also die'sire dies (doily is Chantilly Lace).  I distressed the doily using Tim Holtz distress ink in Tea Dye.  It's all held together with Collal glue gel and all purpose glue - my favs & get used on everything!

Really hope you like this card - I loved making it.

Pens used:
for Bamboo: IG1, IG3, IG5, IG7, PP1, Blender
Branch: TN5
Flowers: PP1, PP2, PP4, DR1, BP4
Leaves: CG3, JG1
Butterflies: BT4, TB5

Well, must get ready for work.

YAY!!!!!!! Happiest Dance Time

Well, as you know I posted at the weekend that I had some good news on Friday, but did not say what it was, that was because I couldn't at the time.

A while back Crafters Companion (you all know how I love Crafters Companion) had a Design Team call, well I decided to enter, and unlike last year where I just threw a few cards at them and left it at that (needless to say I did not get in), this year I did it properly.  I sat down and seriously thought about what were my bestest cards and projects that would let them know I meant business.  I emailed my entry, got Leann's name wrong, and then set about trying to convince myself that it was completely hopeless and there are masses more talented people than me out there (there are!).  The original date set for hearing from them was 28th February and as that came and went I gave up hope - then there was a post from Sharon (Callis, get me, first name terms!) to say that because there were so many entries, they were still considering them & had not made any decisions.

Then, last Friday, Sharon posted on Facebook that the winners would be emailed after 6 p.m. that day! When I got home from work, I set about my usual routine of cooking tea and trying again not to hold out much hope, that way I couldn't be too disappointed when it didn't happen.  Well at about 7 p.m. my email pinged on my Ipad and I could not believe what I was seeing, the header said 'CONGRATULATIONS'!!!!! I made it in!!!!! Needless to say I blubbed like a baby for about 10 minutes (this has been a dream of mine for a long time!).  Since then I have gone through a whole host of emotions from elation to sickness in the pit of my stomach thinking that I really am not good enough and they will find me out soon.

Anyway, here I am, one of the newest members of the most amazing Design Team in the World!

I did make a card in the middle of all of this, and yes, it is using Crafters Companion products (but then you expect nothing less of me!), it's from the Bebunni range using both the CD for the background and stamp for the main image, together with some (too many probably) dies for good measure.

Anyway, hope you like - I really should go and get ready for the day job!

The Perfect Weekend

I am just having the most amazing weekend! Got some fab news Friday and everything has just gone brilliantly from there.

On Saturday morning, Charlie (my daughter) and I went out for a ride on our bikes (she has a 125 and I have a scooter), she took me for a Hot Chocolate at Chocaccinos in Plymouth and it was AMAZING!!! Then she bought me lunch from Cap'n Jaspers on the Barbican, the weather was perfect and it was great to spend some quality mum and daughter time.

I even had my shopping delivered yesterday so I now have some free time today and hope to get some more crafting in later, but for now, here is a card with one of the images I coloured in last weekend.  Again its a Suzanna Loves Stamps image from the Oddly Sweet Curiosities range, coloured with my very trustee Spectrum Noirs.  I used the Clouds embosallicious embossing folder on the peach coloured card just to give the impression of flying and cut the circles with my spellbinders dies (the tiny ones I did with a hole punch.  The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

Hope you like - a sunny card for a beautifully sunny day!

The world has gone all technicolour!

I was walking home from work yesterday and realised that Spring is definitely on its way (even if the no one told the weather!).  The daffodils are all in flower, bushes are starting to sprout new growth and everything is beginning to turn lush and wonderful again, it's also still light when I walk home from work!

So in keeping with this lovely theme of colour and lushness, you might want to get your sunglasses out for this next card!  The stamp is from Susanna Loves Stamps and the Oddly Sweet Curiosities range, there are loads of these beautiful monsters to choose from (I couldn't and bought a multi set!).  She is coloured with my spectrum noir pens, to which I added a bit of Prismacolor pencils and white gel pen highlights.  The lacey border is one of the ones from Crafters Companion, the sentiment comes from the same set as the stamp - the wool button was made by me by wrapping wool around a circular piece of card and all the papers were a freebie in a magazine years ago that I found lurking at the bottom of one of my many boxes of paper, I am starting to try and use them up.

I used the Sketch from this weeks Sketch Saturday Challenge, so I'll be entering my card for this.

This card actually started its life last weekend when I was colouring with Alison, yes she was finally able to make it over, and I'm hoping she keeps well enough to make it two weeks in a row!  It's always much nicer to craft with someone.

Anyway, I hope you like it & I apologise for not blogging sooner.
